Sunday thankfulness.

What a low key Sunday.  I started my morning by thanking God for another day.  A new day means a fresh start, new mercies, a new beginning.  Who isn't thankful for that?  I sure am!
So after church, it was lunch time.  While eating my mom and I watched Extreme Home Makeover and it was about a little boy named Job and his family.  Job was a healthy young boy and then at the age of 4 he was diagnosed with some sort of cancer.  He beat it, but another type of illness attacked his body. Job was on all sorts of medications that also made him contract diabetes.  Job's little body became swollen and confined to a wheelchair.  In all this, Job was so positive and courageous!  He inspired so many throughout his community ... his community LOVED Job and his family and it definitely showed!  The town of Bigelow, Arkansas, population of 329 all rallied together and showed it's close knit/tight community love.
The McCully's house was in less than desirable living conditions ... especially for Job.  The mold, sunken floors, bad septic systems, caved in walls.  It was not safe at all.  Ty and his team, the builders, and the community, built them a beautiful home that was suitable for Job and his needs. Looking at this particular episode, made me so very thankful for livable living conditions and health. I have never had any terminal or life threatening disease(s).
I thank God for my health ... sure I may have an occasional headache, toothache, joints may hurt, but it is NOTHING compared to what little Job and his family have endured.  Job and his family taught me that even in your hardest, most painful times that you can still have a positive outlook/perception on life.  It's all about how you choose to look at your circumstance when you're going through your darkest and trying times.
Do you see the irony of this young man Job?  He like Job in the Bible, lost what seemed to be EVERYTHING, but in the end gained more than what he had in the beginning. You say how so? It's all about perception!
